Its in their big exhibition buildings. They have rides and crafts, apuppet magic showand some crafts to make. They even decorated some cookies. They all had a good time. We are supposed to get up to 12inche s of snow tonight. I hope the worst of it misses us.Me and ice and snow is not a good combination.

Getting close
Are you ready? I'm not. I guess I better get with it. I know what I am going to get, just need to go get them. I'm using gift certificates for my kids and the older three grandkids. I will buy presents for the three little kids and Jillian. She will be 8 momths old the 21, she will probably like the paper better than the presents. She is a little doll. They are getting her pic with Santa this weekend, can't wait.

Me again
I am not a very good blogger I guess. Tasha and Markie moved into their first place on their own, a cute town house. It's depressing to have grandkids old enough to be on their own. If thats not bad enough Rhonda turned 42 yesterday. There is NO way I am old enough to have a 42 year old daughter. Of course I wasn't old enough to have her at 16 either.
Richard and Nathan have been going out hunting, no luck yet, but I guess Brock got a doe the other day.
Caeddin is going to Indiana with her dad for thanksgiving to see his grandma. Hope grandma is ready to have her ear talked off cuz that child goes non stop.
Judy sent me a cute video today of her grandkids so of course I had to make one of mine. It's called Elf Yourself. It's cute to see mine go Here
I received this in an email the other day and thought it was worth sharing. It is so true
Cell phone Vs. The Bible
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn’t live without it?
What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don’t have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.
Makes you stop and think “where are my priorities?”
Have a good one...later

Tests back
I saw the cancer Dr. yesterday and my CT scan and blood work were all good. Now I don't have to have another for 6 months. Nicholas had a sleep study last night and all we know for sure is his mother snores worse than he does. He was making a lot of gasping noises in his sleep and snoring alot. He saw the allergist and since he has been on new medication, we haven't noticed him snoring. The sleep study was already scheduled so they did it anyway. Hopefully it was just his allergies and sinus drainage making him snore. In the pictures above I am just picking on Jillian, that kid makes some of the goofiest faces! She just cracks us up. Nathan barks at her like a dog and she just cracks up.
Gotta go for now.....

Busy week
It's been a busy week. I went for my CT scan on monday and had all my blood work done wednesday. I see the cancer Dr. Wednesday to see how it all came out. Then on Wednesday we went up to the school to watch the kids in their parade and went out to the church to help with the activities there. They did trunk or treating this year. We had a bonfire to roast hotdogs and all kinds of donuts and hot or cold cider,It was fun even though it rained and we all got soaked.

Hello
I am doing quite well with the smoking thingy. Haven't quit completely yet, but getting there.
Rick left for Wyoming Monday and got there last night around 12:30.I hope they can work things out. I told him if she kicks him out again he can stay under a bridge. I sure can't pay for him to go back and forth. It was good to have him here for the two weeks he was here.I guess there isn't anything going on here so will go for now.

Little of this and that
I guess it has been awhile since I checked in. I am on day four, week two on the chantix. I am still smoking, but less than half what I was smoking.I don't know why everything has to be so hard for me. I hate these things. Why do they have such a hold on me. Everyone wants me to quit but instead of encouragement they act like I'm some kind of criminal because I haven't completely quit yet. I have been a heavy smoker for a long time and I think I am doing good. I will beat this!!
I got a letter today telling me my next CT scan is on the 29th of Oct. I can't help being a little nervous as this is my first 3month scan and in the back of my head I can't seem to get rid of the what if's.
Now my dear son informed me he is going back to Wyoming. I should have waited awhile to send him the bus ticket home but I am mom and missed him. I knew they would go back to each other, and I do want them to be together. I guess thats life. I guess I was hoping she would come back here.

Still trying
The Chantix is going pretty well, I seem to have more trouble with wanting to smoke in the evening. Still down to half my usual amount so can't complain too much. My actual quit day is tuesday. Tomorrow I take two doses morning and night so will see how that goes.
It has turned cold here the past couple days. 90 on monday and down in the low 50's today. No wonder we all have colds.

Help
Well for those of you that have been here before, a couple weeks ago I said I was going to talk to my Dr. about taking Chantix, well I did and she gave me a prescription. I startd this morning. I was pretty nauseated for a couple hours after taking it, but nothing too bad. I have noticed a bad taste in my mouth and throat, but I guess that is normal, it's supposed to make the ciggarette taste bad, who ever said they tasted good to begin with! Here is hoping I will finally quit the rotten habit. You start the pills and set a quit date for a week after you start using them. This let's it get built up in your system. I have smoked about half my usual amount today. I am really excited about this product. one of the biggest differences this time, I am doing it because I want to quit. Always before it was because a doctor or family member was putting me on a guilt trip. I have to admit I have always been bugged by people who say they just quit and that's that.. Well that is great for you, but it doesn't work for me. i never thought my husband suffered
enough when he quit. He used the nicotine patch and just did it. I know I am terrible.
My two oldest granddaughters are getting a townhouse together. They are excited about it. This is their first time out on their own. What is scarry, tonight Tasha said they have decided they wanr Thanksgiving dinner at their house this year. The scary thing is neither of them can cook! Not only that they have very limited cooking utinsils or cookware. She said I still get to cook the turkey and just bring it with me. Ya I bet a lot more than just the turkey.
Wish me success with my quitting program and pray no one gets hurt.

Genealogy Links added
I have some of my genealogy links up on the right. I will be adding to them. I am also doing research on the FENBY-MCMILLEN surnames. For info you will have to contact me, I have nothing online.
Some of the surnames in Marc'c tree are ROBINSON RYAN BROOKS PETTIS LAKE DICK
Judy is researching 2 BROOKs lines
My research includes BROOKS ROBINSON FENBY MCMILLEN TUBBS VANORTWICK BROWN MCELHANEY
I guess it is impossible to list them all, but those are the main ones.
Any questions please contact me,if you may be related to any of these surnames feel free to email me. I'm always looking for a new cousin.
I can't believe the weather here. It was in the high 80's here today and again tomorrow they say (not complaining) it could stay this way all winter for me. The kids were actually running through the sprinkler today. I think that has to be a first in Michigan.

Called Dr. today to see about Chantix and they said I would have to come in and see the Dr. I'm ok with that but I can't get in until Oct. 8th. Oh well that gives me 2 weeks to get ready. I will do this!!
I am going to add a cousins web site to the genealogy list.

Sunday
I have decided I am going to call my Dr. tomorrow and see if she will give me a prescription for Chantix. I Have to quit smoking somehow and have tried everything else out there. Both Rhonda and Melissa know people using it. I just spent two hours online reading some message boards for support and really feel optimistic about it.I just feel so guilty about all the money I spend on cigs. Richard quit 16 years ago and with his breathing problems I know the second hand smoke isn't doing him any good. After all my atempts to quit I really have issues with failure. So here I go again.
later....

Still here
Not much going on here. The Dr. gave me a cortisone injection in my wrist the other day. It seems to be working for now. The next choice would be to break my arm and shorten the bone where it is rubbing on the bone in my hand. Doesn't sound fun to me so hope this shot works for a long time, like forever.

New Heelies
Sometimes these three act like they really like each other. Other times they are fighting like cats and dogs. These are my three youngest grandkids. Rhonda bought the twins new heelies for their birthday, Caeddin already had hers. Here they are showing them off. If you don't know what heelies are, they are tennis shoes with a wheel in the heel. The wheel can be pushed up so they are regular shoes. We will see who breaks their arm or leg first.

My favorite song.
I can only imagine by Mercy Me. We played this at mom's funeral. I love it.
Went shopping with the twins and they ended up with a hamster!! Oh well I'm grandma, Pudge (that's what they named the hamster) lives with them. I had promised we would go shopping today after school and buy their birthday presents. As soon as we picked them up they were determined they wanted a hamster.

Sunday
Not much new here. Saturday night we went to a get together at a friend's house and got to see some friends we hadn't seen in a while. It was nice to chat and catch up with all the new happenings. Some friends of ours have a christian band and they were there playing, so it was a good time.
Caeddin went fishing with her dad today and caught a 3 lb. catfish. She was so excited, it was the first time she had caught anything she didn't have to throw back. Her dad got a picture, but I haven't seen it yet.
The twins turn 9 on wednesday, it's hard to believe they are getting so old. Here is a pic of them their mother took the first day of school. Now tell me...do they look like twins?
Their mother cut Kiesha's head off...not me.

Nothing new
I'm still around. I am trying to get some back to school scrapbook pages done of the grandkids.
When they got to school wednesday Kiesha and Caeddin (cousins) had the same shoes, and had wore the same uniforms, they thought that was cool. They can wear navy blue, lt blue, tan and white, so they arn't the same everyday. Guess there isn't much else going on here this week. It's been raining most of the day, but no storms. We have had enough of them. Of course september means getting cold soon. I hate winter in Michigan. Maybe someday I will turn into a snowbird and go somewhere warm in the winter months. It is getting late so better go for now. Will try to get some pic's posted tomorrow. Later......

Too Cute
My niece sent this pic to me. I think it is tooo cute.
The roof is on, the kids started school. It was so quiet around here I could almost hear myself think! Although I try not to do that too much.
They are having some really neat scrapbooking givaways at godigitalscrapbooking.com and Scrappers Zone. com if you are into digi scrapbooking. I picked up a lot of freebies. Now I guess I better do some scrapping.

September already..
This is a pic I took of my newest Coke bottles. The one on the right is actually silver. It's the 25th diet coke anniversary bottle. It is not being sold, you can only get it from "my coke rewards" The bottle in the middle is one that is sold in Asia. The basket is from my sister Jeannie. She put it together for me for Christmas.
I can't believe it's the last holiday of Summer and I am sitting here with men tearing my roof off. It sounds to me like they are tearing the house down, but all the walls seem to be here so I guess all is ok. I would much rather be in some nice campground on Lake Michigan sitting around the campfire and looking at the stars. Oh well I guess I'll have to get the scrapbooks out and pretend. If i get in the camper and shut the door I can pretend I'm some where else.
Went school shopping yesterday with the twins and Melissa. They go to a charter school and have to wear uniforms, so that makes it a little easier. I think half of Lansing was school shopping! I swear we were in the checkout lane forever.
Now they can't start til wednesday because last week during the storms here a tree came down and did some damage to the school.
Have a good holiday tomorrow. I will if they finish my roof!!

Look what I found on Melissa's dropshots!! I don't what a Pepsi lover is doing taking pictures of Coke machines! Actually I do know, her friend is a Coke lover (smart man)He is in another pic standing in front of the machines, but I didn't steal that one
The roof is done next door and tomorrow they start ours. Hopefully we will go to Wyoming the middle of Sept. to see Rick and Kathy. Kiesha and Nicholas are spending the night...they start school tuesday. Gotta go...

Just checking in
Well I didn't get to the Dr. today, they rescheduled me for Sept. 18!! Oh well I'm not looking forward to it anyway.
I guess I should connect these pictures of grankids to their parents. Rhonda my oldest daughter, her daughters are Markie and Caeddin. Melissa's tribe is Natasha, Nathan, Nicholas and Nakiesha. Jillian is Nathan's daughter. Rick my son has no kids. His wife has 5 all grown and 15 grandkids. They all call him dad or papa. Cracks me up, after all he is my baby with more gkids than me. Oh well we love them and they are happy, living in Wyoming with the cowboys and buffalo. Hoped to get out there this summer but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Later.....
