Labor Day

Happy labor day. Yahoo school starts tomorrow! Actually I hate to see Sept. come because next thing ya know it will be winter again, NOT looking forward to that!

I know I don't get here very often. Not much news from my part of the world.Been busy with the kids here allday this summer. Kiesha and Nicholas went to camp for a week, had a good time. They had VBS last week so have been keeping busy.

Jillians 1st Birthday

We celebrated Jillian's 1st birthday Sunday. It was abusy weekend with Rhonda getting married friday, her reception saturday and the birthday party on sunday.
I had my 6mo. cat scan tuesday and my blood work on thursday. I see the CA Dr. May 6th and if all is ok on the scan I get to wait a year for the next one.

Africam

As I mentioned a few posts back I am addicted to Africam! The picture above is a sunset and lion, pic's I took and put in one of my scrapbook challenges. Now not only do I hang out with the streaming cams at Nkorho and Elephant Plains, I go every night on a real drive in the bush at Djuma Game Reserve. They have a real time streaming cam mounted on the vehicle and they go out every morning and afternoon looking for animals. Twice this week we have seen the Magapo(sp) Pride of lions. They are 6 hours ahead of us so it starts at 11:30p.m. my time for the morning drive. Probably the only sunrises I have ever seen. If you know me you know I am a night owl. I haven't seen an afternoon drive yet.
I downloaded a camera from MWSnap. It captures the screen so you can take pictures and save them to your pc. The slide show below are some of the pic's I have gotten so far.
The pictures were taken by me using MWSnap, and taken at Nkorho Lodge , Elephant Plains, and Wildearth live cams at Djuma Game Reserve.

Easter in MI

I guess it has been awhile since I have been here. I can't believe we are getting ready for Easter. We still have snow on the ground and it is COLD in the 20's today. I guess we might get up to the 40's this week but, don't know how long it will last. Marc has been working on the Brooks geneology. He has a lot of new info and a lot of pictures. So if you are a Brooks you might want to check his site out. It is in the right column under geneology Marc Ryans family tree. My Dad turned 85 yesterday, I'm so glad we got all this info to share with him, he loves it.I guess there isn't much new going on here. I'm still going to Africam, it is so amazing. Later....

Back again

I know I don't keep up with the blog very well. Here is a couple pages I did of Jillian's first Valentines day.I had made cupcakes for the kids and sent one home with Melissa for her. Needless to say she enjoyed her treat. She has on her new valentines outfit her grandma bought her. The kids just had a four day weekend so it's been busy here. Nicholas had pneumonia acouple weeks ago and missed a whole week of school. Caeddin started coughing this weekend, hope she doesn't get worse. With her asthma she can get sick real fast.Markie has been sick too but she has gone to work every day. She has asthma too and never gets just a cold
I never did figure out how to change my background. I did what I was told to do but it kept rejecting it so we'll see what I can come up with for March.
I sure need something, it has been a cold winter with way too much snow to make me happy. I am ready for Spring! Well have some other things to finish up and it is getting late so good by for now.

I know the colors in my header clash with the background but I can't figure out how to change the orange. I will figure it out tomorrow.

I'm Back

I guess it has been awhile since I have been here. I hate to admit it but I have a new addiction, (like I need one) I have found the most awesome site in south africa, it has a streaming cam set up at a lodge and you can see real time animals coming to this waterhole to drink. At night they have it set for infrared lighting. the first night I watched three lions walked across the screen. Earlier this week there were three rhino's at the waterhole and here comes a Hippo. It has sound too and you could here them snorting at each other. the hippo won and the three rhino's left and the hippo went in the water for awhile and then got out and was just eating the grass. He stayed til daylight so we saw him in color. During daylight hours they operate the cam so it scans the area and they zoom in on the animals so you can see them close up. There are Message boards so you can chat while you are watching. that is helpful esp. to begin as there are people that have been viewing the cam for a long time and they identify the animals. We are having another snow storm today. They have already closed school for tomorrow. The twins are upset because they were going on a fieldtrip, skiing tomorrow. I know I am ready for spring I'm sick of snow, snow and more snow! It is getting late and I have to check the cams to see what is lurking around this morning. That is the problem their morning is our nightime so I end up staying up late. Oh well I guess it could be worse at least this addiction is educational. The kids love it too.

I have been busy scrappin Christmas Pictures and doing some challenges in the scrapbooking sites I use. The one above is one I did for the All In The Family challenge at Digitals. The kids have been here this week on Winter break. They go back to school Monday so things will be back to normal whatever that is. Hope your New Year has been good so far. We have had a lot of snow this past week ugh! The little kids love it. I could live without it.

Happy New Year from snowy MI

This is the bright new clean world we woke up to this morning. Of course tomorrow it will be dirty and ugly again. I love the beauty of snow as long as I am looking out the window. The kids have been outside most of the day, they love it. I would prefer being somewhere warm and just look at the pictures. Oh well this is where I was born and been here ever since. Wishing everyone a wonderful New Year.
